The approach is very easy. Coming from the North, just head for the center of the island. The last miles are often gusty. There is a West cardinal buoy which is a bit difficult to spot at night, although it is lit.
After passing the northern point of the bay, sail towards the town in the center of the bay. Watch out for the ferry traffic and don't anchor in their channel in the center of the bay. You can anchor in the North on 2 - 5 meters or in the South on 5 - 10 meters (make sure of swinging room) or pick up a mooring there. The bay provides good shelter from swell and waves, but not from the wind which is often strong and squally. Authorities indicate the mooring buoys are "not controlled", however they appear to be reliable. 40 EC$ for 1 or 2 nights. Speedlimit 5 knots.
It is possible to make water at the town dock and after negociation to dock on for the night.
It is also possible to anchor in front of Princess Margaret Beach. The sandy bottom affords very good holding and there are less squalls there than at the main anchorage.
Going ashore
There are a number of docks for tenders. The town dock is illuminated at night.
Port of entry
The customs and immigration offices are right behind the ferry dock.
