Approach: Difficult
Shelter: Medium - Alternative shelter: Tyrell Bay 2.5 M.
Night approach: No - Overnight shelter: No
Draft: No issue
Beware: Approach requires very precise pilotage!
Waypoints: From the south: 12° 25,7 N - 061° 28,8 W - From the east: 12° 26 N - 061° 27,7
Anchorage: Good holding on sand.
From the west:
Beware of the south-west point of Carriacou with an unmarked off-lying rock. Pass south of the two "Mushrooms". Once in the south of White Island, look for the television tower on the coast along 45° true. Then go around Saline Island. The tower indicated on some charts to the north-west of the island is very difficult to spot (it is usually spotted too late!)
From the west:
Spot the coral reef and steer 270° true.
Beware: do not enter the little bay to anchor, soundings are around one meter! Anchor just outside on sandy bottom 2 to 5 meters deep providing good holding.
There was a project to set up mooring buoys to protect the bottom.
Going ashore: on the beach.
