Official coloursLes Saintes are part of Guadeloupe, French Over-seas department (Département d'Outre-Mer) since 19 march 1946. Capital: Paris, departmental capital Pointe-à-Pitre and administrative center Bourg des Saintes.

Languages: French is the official language and creole widely spoken.

Currency: Euro (USD accepted) ATMs on the island.

Formalities:

  • No visas required for citizens of the European Union, Canada and USA, unless staying over 3 months.
  • ID required from EU citizens, passport for all others.
  • Clearance on entry and departure is free of charge.
  • Pets must have a valid vaccination certificate.

Port of entry: Bourg des Saintes: Clearance is no longer at the town hall but in an office on the main street (business hours not quite clear).

- Minibus service on Terre-de-Haut with Charles Henri.
- Bicycle and scooter rental.
