Anse Fideling, Les Saintes, GuadeloupeApproach: Very easy

Shelter: Average - Alternative shelter: Bourg des Saintes / Marina du Bas du Fort, Guadeloupe, dist: 18 M.

Night approach: Yes - Overnight: Yes except south-east to eastern Trade Winds

Draft: No issue

Beware: Lots of lobster pots and fishing nets.

Waypoint: 15° 50, 86 N - 061° 37, 10 W

Anchorage: On sand and gravel, medium to good holding according to where.

Food & drinks:
Eugenette at Grande Anse (reservation advised). Excellent food.
Le Nid d'abeille, on the road to Anse Murier.

Scuba:
Excellent snorkeling at Pointe à Nègre. Very beautiful gorgones.

Ashore:
Visit ancient pottery which gave the cove its name (from Jean-Pierre Fidelin). On the west coast of the bay. Superb. Good starting point for a tour of the island.

Comments:
There is a lot less tourists on the Terre d'en Bas, making your contacts with locals much more authentic. The anchorage may roll, but we like it a lot and have often been the only boat there.

Unfortunately the end of the cove is soiled with garbage.

Anse Fideling is the only acceptable anchorage to leave one's boat in order to visit the island. It is also possible to reach Anse Murier with a shuttle from Bourg des Saintes.
