Leg entrance to the lagoon: 130° V - 0,15 M

Approach to Young Island Cut: Northern approach is very easy. The southern approach is winding and not advisable if you do not know the area. Check out the Young Island Lighthouse on the top of the small island in the South (Duvernet Isle). Keep well to the center of Young Island Cut and watch out for the many boats mooring there.

The current is quite strong (up to 2.5 knots) and reverses with the tide. Keep a wide swinging area. Use two anchors, or a mooring buoy for the night. They belong to taxi drivers and require some negociation to agree on a reasonable price! Beware of the high voltage cable crossing the passage overhead!

Approach to the lagoon: The southern access is deeper but very tricky and winding. Northern access is advisable, less deep but marked. Maximum draft 1.6 m!

Inside the lagoon, it may be possible to dock onto the charter boat docks if free, otherwise anchor with good holding 10 - 15 m.

Going ashore
