The best place to buy souvenirs or T-shirt in the whole Antilles: The Image Tree in the town center is managed by Deborah, who is a very resourceful Englishwoman. Tel: 486 0150 / 719 6664.

Fuel and water at the town docks (station Texaco). Prepare enough fenders!

There are banks, ATMs,  bakers, small super-markets and grocers in town. Try Erolin's Food on Church Street. Three pharmacies on Maurice Mason Street and the Tourism Office on Bridge Street.

Food & drinks:

  • Hummingbird Hotel & restaurant is on the beach (very good);
  • The Old Courthouse near the main docks is held by Germans. Very good quality for your money and beautiful view on the bay. Small but interesting art gallery upstairs;
  • Many more restaurants in town.

Communication

  • many taxis (agree prices in advance!)
  • car rentals: Cool Breeze - 758-459-7729 - www.coolbreezecarrental.com

Ashore

  • Visit the town and botanical gardens on foot;
  • On the way to the botanical gardens: the buterfly farm;
  • Visit the falls and the volcano by car (take swimming gear and towel for a spa bath at the volcano, there are cabins to change in!)
  • Excellent snorkeling to the north of Rochette Point.
