Northern route
Advised approach. Coming from Canouan, steer towards Mayreau on a course of 220° true. At approximately 1/3 of Mayreau (position 12°39, 2 N - 061° 23,1 W) set course on 135° true, two islands which look like only one with two summits. Pass either side of a white buoy marked "Tobago Cays". Two perches indicating the leading line to the anchorage become visible at the last minute.
Southern approach
Steer 060° true on Jamesby. Make sure you can sight the shoals to port and starboard before entering. The soundings must never rise above 3.5 meters. Use this access only to leave the Cays.
If you do intend to use this approach, do so with the sun high in the sky. The waypoints are:
1. 12° 37, 70' N - 061° 22, 20 W
2. 12° 37, 82' N - 061° 21, 60 W
Steer to the NE towards the first waypoint. Identify the reef in front of you. The one on starboard is trickier as more difficult to spot. At waypoint 1 steer between Petit Bateau and Petit Rameau towards waypoint 2.
When you reach Petit Rameau, head to port about 100 meters from the coast to anchor on a sandy bottom 3 to 5 meters deep, good holding. It is also possible to anchor in the south of the pass between Petit Bateau and Petit Rameau.
Going ashore: on the beach
