Coming from the north the landing strip partly built on the sea is very obvious. The reef is quite visible and breaks. Thompson Island with its small coconut trees is a good mark, then follow the red buoys.

Coming from the north, keep away from the south-eastern coast of Union Island and from the southern point of the bay. As soon as you can spot the red and the green entrance buoys, steer north-west towards the village.

There are various places you can moor:

  • At the town docks, aft towards the docks and anchor in front. The manoeuver can often be tricky;
  • At the Anchorage yacht Club's dock, aft towards the docks and anchor in front. The manoeuver can often be tricky because of shifting winds in the bay;
  • Anchor in front of the village: beware of the reef in the center of the bay. The bottom is 6 to 9 meters in front of the Anchorage Yacht Club's docks;
  • Anchor behind Thompson Island. Go in as far as possible (particularly attractive for catamarans).

Going ashore: at the harbour.
