The "Chameau" (camel), 70 meters high, is easy to identify. As for the Bourg de l'Île, anchoring is prohibited; you must pick up one of the (paying) mooring buoys.
Snorkelling around the Chameau is very good, but beware of currents. To go ashore, just pull your dinghy up on the beach. There's a hotel-bar-restaurant where you can buy ice and obtain advice.
You might pay a visit to Jacques Boone, local adventurer who sells two of his books and loves to tell you his life. Great view from his house, the first on the trail climbing from the beach.
